Frequently Asked Questions

Who is allowed into the club?: Anyone who wants to have a good time!
You must be at least 18 years old. We do not accept parent's permissions.
Do I need to bring my ID?: Yes, you must bring your ID card or, if you are a student, your Thoska card. We check the age of every guest.
Photos or screenshots of ID cards are not accepted.
Do you have a cloakroom?: Yes, there is a free cloakroom at the entrance. We are not liable for any items left there.
Can I bring a bag or backpack with me?: You can bring small purses with important stuff. Backpacks, bags, or large handbags can be left in the cloakroom, but you can't bring them inside. We suggest leaving them at home.
We reserve the right to check your bag for unauthorized items.
Who pays reduced admission?: Students of all universities, pupils, volunteers, trainees, and severely disabled persons and their accompanying persons.
Please have proof of eligibility with you (e.g. your Thoska).

Can I pay with card?: Yes, of course. It's also easier for us than coins and bills.
How does presale work?: If we offer presale for an event, you can buy a ticket via the ticket platform (e.g., Pretix). Bring your ticket with you to the event, either printed out or digitally, and we will scan it.
You will still need to bring your ID and, if applicable, proof of eligibility for a discount, which we will then check.
What do you offer?: Beer and snacks are available at the beer. All other drinks are available at the bar. Feel free to take a look at our menu online.
We also have a new special drink for every event, either something on special offer or a brand new drink.
There is also a cigarette machine in the hallway.

Can I play on the foosball table?: Sure, and it's free. Ask at the beer, and you'll get a ball for a deposit.
Why can't I take my drink outside?: We don't want to have to search for lost bottles and glasses outside after closing. And we also don't want guests to just take the glasses home with them.
Why do some people take their drinks outside anyway?: They are club members, and they are allowed to do so. That's one of the many benefits you enjoy as a club member.

Is there a dress code?: No.
However, we are not a formal ballroom and we are not a kinky club. Anything in between is fine.
What about costume parties?: From time to time, we have special themed events where costumes are welcomed. Guests in costume usually receive a small bonus, but we never make costumes mandatory.
Can I take photos and videos?: Of yourself and your friends, yes. You can also tag @bhd.club.ilmenau on social media.
Please ask other guests and club members before taking photos of them.

What kind of music do you play?: Everything. Our club members have a wide range of musical tastes and enjoy experimenting as DJs at our parties.
At our events, we particularly like to play current pop and dance music, 90s hits, techno, and various EDM genres.
Can I DJ at your events?: If you already have DJ experience, feel free to send us a request via the contact form or on Instagram. We'll then discuss which event would work the best for you.
Keep in mind that we plan events about 3-4 months in advance.
As a new club member, we can also teach you how to DJ from the ground up if you're interested.
